Autumn is the perfect time to collect flowers that fall from nearby trees. I spread chestnuts by the door. I no longer have problems with spiders

Although they are useful (they feed on mosquitoes and flies), not all of us would like to have them at home. Fortunately, there are home remedies that will help repel insects. Chestnuts contain chemicals that arachnids cannot tolerate. So spread the gifts of autumn at the entrance door, on the windowsills and in other nooks and crannies through which they can enter the house and where spiders like to look. Thanks to this, you will scare them away in a natural way and none of them will be harmed. The effect will be even better if you gently split the chestnuts in half. It is worth replacing them about once a month. It’s good to know that in addition to chestnuts, acorns will also work and will work in the same way.

What are house spiders afraid of? Other tricks will also work

If you don’t want spiders to appear in your home, try other tricks to repel insects and prevent their visits. What is worth paying attention to?

  • Install mosquito nets on the windows. A dense mesh will mean that fewer insects will fly into the house – especially at night, when the lights are on, which attracts them.
  • Use mint. This smell is also not liked by spiders. Diffuse mint essential oil and grow mint on your windowsill. You can also place leaves in nooks and crannies.
