Gienek Loska called himself a “Polish Belarusian”. He was born in Białooziersk and founded his first music band while still in primary school. The fact that he was deaf in one ear did not prevent him from pursuing a musical career. As a teenager, he dropped out of high school to start playing guitar in the Minsk metro. He founded his first blues band in 1990. Two years later he moved to Krakow. – I was young, unwise, hungry for fame and big money. I dreamed all this. I didn’t realize the dangers. And Poland was the West, a colorful vertigo. So I escaped to the West and stayed. There was no going back – he said in “Viva”.

In Krakow he performed in clubs and on the streets. At one point he reached for stimulants. – We drank everything that was burning. And what wasn’t on fire, we set on fire and drank – he said in “Vivie” and emphasized that he was “young and stupid” then. Eventually, Loska left the band and sought help in his fight against addiction. In 2003, he met his wife, Agnieszka, thanks to whom he organized his life. The couple had a daughter, Aleksandra.

In 2004, he appeared in one of the episodes of “Chance for Success”, and in 2010 he also tried his hand at “”. He had to wait seven years for success. Meanwhile, a few hours after the victory, Loska returned to performing on the streets, although he emphasized that he no longer wanted to be just a street musician. The victory turned out to be a ticket to a great career. Thanks to “X Factor”, Loska could finally fulfill his dreams, although later he “f***ed up his life”. However, he did not regret the performance. Together with the Gienek Loska Band, he began to give regular concerts, but at the same time he did not give up playing on the streets, much to the delight of his fans. It all ended in 2018. While staying with his mother in Belarus, he suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke. He was operated on only 11 hours later. He has been in a coma since May 2018. Gienek Loska died on September 9, 2020. He was 45 years old.
