The art world is in mourning after the death of painter and sculptor Fernando Boter. Born in Medellín on April 19, 1932, he found his calling in painting and from there achieved success with his works on canvas and sculptures of large volumes that crossed borders.

The auction was held on March 12, 2022, just one month before his 90th birthday. Bidding started with an amount of two to three million dollars, as Noticias RCN reported at the time, until the buyer offered a price of $3.55 million and it was sold in less than ten minutes. With the amount of taxes and associated rates, the value was HRK 4.32 million.
The large piece is made of bronze and has a height of 3.5 meters. The public can enjoy it passing through El Renacimiento Park, in Colombia, as it is the only sculpture by Fernando Botero placed in a public space in Bogotá, as mentioned Excelsior.
