Information about the death of Cezary Kussyk was provided by the Association of Polish Stage Artists. “It is with great regret and sadness that we announce the death of our colleague Cezary Kussyk, a long-time member of the Wrocław Branch of ZASP. He passed away at the age of 87. The actor’s funeral will take place on September 15, 2023 at the Catholic Cemetery in Sopot,” we read on social media.

Cezary Kussyk graduated from the Acting Department of the National Film School in Łódź. He made his debut as Michał in “Intriga na prędce” by Aleksander Fredro, directed by Jadwiga Chojnacka on the stage of the Powszechny Theater in Łódź. He performed in the following theaters: Polish in Poznań (1960-1965), Dramatyczny in Szczecin (1965-1968), Ziemia Opolskiej in Opole (1968-1969), Polish in Wrocław (1969-2007). In 1962, he received a distinction for his role in the play “The First Horseman” by Wiszniewski at the Polish Theater in Poznań at the 2nd Kalisz Theater Meetings. According to TVP Kultura, the actor’s last theater engagement was a guest appearance in the musical “Nine” at the Capitol Musical Theater in Wrocław.
He appeared on the big screen for the first time in the film “Beata” by Anna Sokołowska. Later, he also played in the production of “Martwa Fala” by Stanisław Lenartowicz, “The Secret” by Roman Załuski, and joined the cast of the film “Zakręt” directed by Stanisław Brejdygant.
He also played episodic roles in well-known Polish series. In 1999, he guest starred in “Świat dla Kiepskich”, and five years later he could be seen in “Neighbors”. In 2018, he appeared in the cast of the series “Rojst”.
