The Association of Polish Stage Artists announced the death of Marcel Novek on social media. Information appeared on the Internet that the actor’s funeral will take place on September 20 at the Old Powązki Cemetery in Warsaw.

“We regret to inform you that Marcel Nowek, a singer and actor, has passed away. He performed in stage bands in Lublin, Katowice and Warsaw. He took part in numerous concerts and recitals. He cooperated with the Jewish Theater in Warsaw,” we read in the post.

In addition to acting, Marcel Novek also developed his singing career. He performed, among others, at the festival in Opole in 1970. He then presented a program consisting of poems by poets such as Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński and Tadeusz Gajcy, which was not positively received by those responsible for the event’s formula.
As the Onet portal recalls, after Novek’s performance in Opole, Andrzej Jaroszewski, the then head of the KFPP artistic office, was demoted to the role of emcee.
