A few days ago, during a conversation on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, the director admitted that working on the James Bond series was one of his dreams. Christopher Nolan, however, is aware that the iconic character of Agent 007 must be presented in a specific way, which makes the production more difficult to implement.
“I love these films. Their influence on my filmography is very visible. To do something like this would be an incredible privilege for me. At the same time, when you work on a character like this, you feel a certain limitation. So that’s the kind of responsibility that I felt while working on Batman.” – said the director in the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast.
Christopher Nolan also added that you need to be properly prepared to work on “James Bond”:
“It has to be the right moment in your creative life where you can express what you want to express and really delve into something within the right constraints, because you never want to take on something like that and get it wrong,” Nolan explained.
Apparently, negotiations have already taken place with the participation of Christopher Nolan, but they were interrupted due to the strike of actors and screenwriters. Creative freedom is also a contentious issue, because until now the director of “James Bond” had to follow the instructions of producer Barbara Broccoli. Meanwhile, Nolan is keen on gaining full independence in working on the film.
