Who is entitled to 500 plus for seniors? This benefit is not only for older people

is a colloquial term for supplementary benefits for people unable to live independently. However, any adult who is over 18 years old and meets the other conditions can apply for an additional PLN 500. What? You must be a person incapable of independent existence and have a certificate confirming this. You cannot be entitled to a retirement or disability pension, or the sum of all benefits must meet the established income criterion, which currently amounts to PLN 2,157.80. One of the requirements is also having Polish citizenship, permanent residence or legalized stay in Poland. If you meet these conditions, you can apply to the Social Insurance Institution for a bonus of PLN 500 every month.

How to apply for 500 plus for seniors? The application is not enough

The full PLN 500 per month is available to those whose total income does not exceed PLN 1,657.80 gross. In other cases, the “PLN for PLN” principle applies and the benefit will be proportionally reduced. But what do you have to do to get the money? You must submit an application, but this document is not enough. It must also be accompanied by a decision on total incapacity for independent living. Without this, ZUS will not pay out the money. If you do not have it, you can submit instead an OL-9 certificate completed by a doctor and complete medical documentation and a certificate of significant disability. Alternatively, ZUS will take into account a decision on total incapacity for work or service or a decision on inclusion in disability group I, which was issued before September 1, 1997.
