Where to throw away the paper towel? The answer is not always obvious
Paper towels are made of a special mass consisting of cellulose, ribbon and synthetic fibers. That’s why many people may wonder what container their used pieces should actually go to. For BIO waste, mixed waste, or maybe for the blue paper bin? It turns out that it is not so obvious. If we use the paper towel only to wipe dust and it is not wet, we can exceptionally place it in the blue paper basket. However, under no circumstances should this be done when it is wet or has our secretions in it. Where should we place it then?
In which container should I throw away used paper towels? It’s best to always throw it away in one place
After wiping the countertop or pan, a wet paper towel should not get any grease on the paper. So if you have any doubts whether wiping a surface with a towel qualifies it to be placed in a blue container, you can always throw it into one container to be sure. And it is not a BIO container, as some people wrongly believe. Wet, greasy and used paper towels should always be placed in the mixed waste bin, whether wet with detergent, grease or water. A dry paper towel used to wipe the dust may also be included in the mix.
