‘Cerrar los ojos’, by Víctor Erice, ‘20,000 species of bees’, by Estibaliz Urresola and ‘La sociedad de la nieve’, by JA Bayona, have been the three films selected by the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences to will choose to represent Spain in the next edition of the Oscars, number 96, in the category of Best International Film.

The actress Natalia de Molina, the producer Esther García, and the director and screenwriter Borja Cobeaga, members of the Hollywood Academy and the Spanish Film Academy, have announced the three shortlisted films, accompanied by the president of the Academy Fernando Méndez -Leite and the notary Eva Fernández Medina.

On September 20, the title that will finally represent Spain at the Hollywood Academy Awards, which will take place at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on March 10, will be announced.
