The Heritage group of the Valencian Generalitat Police has seized five fake works by Goya, Juan de Juanes, Miró and Renoir.

The Minister of Justice and the Interior, Elisa Núñez, will report on Thursday the details of this new operation in an appearance at the Museu Valencià de la Illustració i de la Modernitat (MuVIM) in Valencia. The pieces will be exhibited in the assembly hall of the museum, advances the regional administration.

This intervention is added to the one carried out last April by the Generalitat Police, which intercepted another five false paintings that were attributed to Francisco de Goya and Diego de Velázquez and that were going to be sold on the market as authentic for a value of 76 million euros.

These works were incorporated into the exhibition ‘False. the art of deception or the deceit of art’ which, precisely, can be seen in the MuVIM and which brings together more than a hundred forged works seized in recent years by this unit of the regional Police.
