PLN 1600 every month! This amount will be paid by ZUS to these seniors before retirement. Where is the catch?

Persons who meet two types of conditions may qualify for the pre-retirement benefit. We are talking about those common to all and individual ones, depending on the length of service, age or the reason for which the employment relationship ended. What criteria must be met to receive it, and how much is it?

Pre-retirement benefit 2023. What conditions must be met to receive it?

In order to receive a pre-retirement benefit, which is designed to help older unemployed people survive until retirement, it is necessary to meet the common and individual conditions. In the case of the former, they will be given to seniors who:

• for at least 180 days they have been receiving an allowance for ,
• are still registered as unemployed,
• during the period of receiving the benefit, they did not refuse to take up employment without giving a justified reason,
• submit an application for a retirement benefit within 30 days from the date of issuance by the employment office of a document confirming the receipt of the benefit for 180 days. Failure to meet this deadline will result in refusal to grant the benefit, for which further applications will be needed, so it’s better not to miss it.

Individual conditions depend on your age, length of service and reasons for termination of employment.

How much is the pre-retirement benefit in 2023? What do you have to do to get them?

The pre-retirement benefit is subject to annual indexation. From March 1, 2023, it amounts to PLN 1,600.70 (previously it was PLN 1,350.70). Importantly, it is granted on request. To receive them, you must submit and attach to it, among others:

• employment certificate (with information on the reason for termination of the employment relationship),
• information on contributory and non-contributory periods,
• as well as all other certificates, insurance cards, other certificates and other documents confirming the length of insurance.

Do not forget about the papers from the employment office that will confirm that you have met the common conditions. You can submit the documents in person at any ZUS branch, by post or online via the ZUS Electronic Services Platform.
