In one of the videos posted on social media, Arnold Schwarzenegger talked about the valve replacement surgery he underwent in 2018. During the procedure, an error occurred, as a result of which the actor’s life was in danger. Fortunately, the doctors managed to control the situation, but Arnold Schwarzenegger had a long convalescence ahead of him.

shared a recording in which he told about a dangerous situation from a few years ago. In 2018, he had to undergo valve replacement surgery because the previous one no longer functioned as it should. The procedure took place just before the start of shooting for the film, in which the actor plays the role of the main character. The operation was supposed to allow for a quick return to Poland, but after waking up, Arnold Schwarzenegger found out that his life was in danger.

“I woke up and there were doctors in front of me saying they were sorry but that wasn’t how they planned it. They said they made a mistake and broke through the heart wall and then they had to open me up to save my life. I really panicked.”

An error during caused the recovery to be unexpectedly prolonged.

“It was a disaster. I was in the middle of a disaster. So how do you get out of it now? You pull yourself together, change gears and say, OK, now I have to get out of this hospital,” he confessed.

The video shows him moving around the hospital corridor, first using a walker and then holding on to the railing.

“I looked like an idiot walking down the hall, but the most important thing was that the doctor said you need to exercise your lungs because if you catch pneumonia you could die… We did it because I was positive… Three months later I started filming Terminator 6” – The actor added.

Arnold Schwarzenegger managed to return to full fitness. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter at the beginning of the year, he said that he still plays sports and is professionally active and does not intend to retire.
