What is your zodiac sign? It may be different than you think. The year of birth plays a big role

Most of us know our zodiac sign, and if not, it’s very easy to check it online. It turns out, however, that if our date of birth is borderline, the zodiac sign is not so obvious.

When you enter a specific one in the search engine, you will get the time period it covers. For example, Virgos are people born between August 23 and September 22, but it is worth knowing that in astrology there is a concept of a cut-off date. What is it and why can it change our zodiac sign?

What is a cutoff date in astrology? It can change your zodiac sign

The cut-off date is the moment of transition from one to the other. It changes by one day every 72 years, so every 72 years the border dates of each sign of the zodiac shift. This phenomenon is called the precession of the equinox point and for individual signs it looks like this:

  • Taurus (April 20 – May 20): cutoff date: April 21,
  • Gemini (May 21 – June 20), cutoff date: May 21,
  • Cancer (June 21 – July 22), cutoff date: June 22,
  • Leo (July 23 – August 22), cutoff date: July 23,
  • Virgo (August 23 – September 22), cutoff date: August 23,
  • Libra (September 23 – October 22), cutoff date: September 23,
  • Scorpio (October 23 – November 21), cutoff date: October 22,
  • Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21), cutoff date: November 22,
  • Capricorn (December 22 – January 19), cutoff date: January 20,
  • Aquarius (January 20 – February 18), cutoff date: February 19,
  • Pisces (February 19 – March 20), cut-off date: March 18.

How to match your zodiac sign? There are two ways to do this

If you do not know which zodiac sign you are, use the online calculator, where, in addition to entering the day and month of birth, we also enter the year. Thanks to this, the calculator will be able to tell you what zodiac sign you are exactly. If your date of birth is a cut-off date, e.g. you were born on August 23, which is the day when you should be Virgo, in fact you can also receive Leo traits (July 23 – August 22).
