“Several Canal Plus productions will be added to Netflix – but not exclusively. We share our content with other providers on a similar basis” – assured Piotr Kaniowski, spokesman for Canal Plus Polska.
Fans of Polish detective stories should be particularly pleased with the new Netflix offer. The platform added to its library an adaptation of the best-selling detective story by one of the most widely read genre writers in our country – Wojciech Chmielarz. We are talking about the seven-episode production “Żmijowisko”.
The series, directed by Łukasz Palkowski, the creator of the films “Gods”, “Chyłki” and “Belfra”, hit Canal Plus in 2019. It tells the story of a group of thirty-year-olds who have been friends since college. Friends decided to go on vacation with their children, but the rest ended with the disappearance of one of the children. Despite intensive searches, the girl cannot be found. Ada’s 15-year-old father cannot accept this and returns to the scene of the family tragedy a year later to find out what happened during the unlucky holiday. The main roles in the series were played by Paweł Domagała, Agnieszka Żulewska, Hanna Koczewska, Piotr Stramowski and Cezary Pazura.
In 2023, apart from “Żmijowisko”, Canal Plus productions such as “King” based on the book by Szczepan Twardoch and “Kruk” with Michał Żurawski in the title role will also be available on Netflix.
