As early as July 14, all institutions, except for financial institutions, had to respect the documents contained in mObywatel. Last Friday, as reported by the portal “” za “”, this rule was also implemented in banks and insurance institutions. How will you be able to identify yourself without a plastic ID?
A new function of the mObywatel application. What is it about?
Thanks to the new option in mObywatel, each app user will be able to use an electronic ID. This is to minimize situations in which you will not be able to use the services of a bank or other financial institution if you forget the plastic version of the document. Moreover, according to the assurances of the plenipotentiary of the Minister of Digitization for the mObywatel application, MichaĆ Kalinowski, situations in which institutions will not accept such a version of the ID should not take place.
The Ministry has additionally provided a special tool to identify another person’s ID. This means that bank employees will be able to easily verify the document. All they have to do is open a website where a special QR code will be displayed. The customer of the branch is then supposed to scan the icon, thanks to which he will confirm his identity. The new function was introduced on September 1 and applies throughout Poland.
How to identify yourself using mIdentification? You must meet several conditions
Please update to version 4.15 or later to take advantage of the new feature of the app. Thanks to this, you will be able to use the electronic ID throughout the country. The exception is an application for a traditional ID card.
However, this is not the end of the news. According to the announcement of the Ministry of Digitization, the application is to be enriched with many interesting options over time. One of them is to be notifications about tax refunds, subsidies or the upcoming expiry date, such as a passport.
