After almost 40 years since the premiere of the previous installment of “Quick” there will be another film with this title. The production will tell a well-known story in a refreshed version. The producers hope that the new adaptation of Tadeusz Dołęga-Mostowicz’s novel will be as successful as the films directed by Jerzy Hoffmann. and will be available to watch in 190 countries. Therefore, the production was given an English title.
The title “Quick” translated. Nobody expected this
The international title of “Quack” shocked fans, who see no connection between “Forgotten Love” and the film’s plot. “Forgotten love”, because this is the literal translation of this title, became the subject of ironic jokes from Internet users.
“After all, if they gave Witch Doctor, people would turn it on blindly” – read one of the many comments under the post about the new title.
I also told my friend, who is a huge fan of this iconic novel, that “Quick” has an English version of the title. In response, I heard: But what does this have to do with the plot?
The creator of the film is Michał Gazda, for whom “Znachor” will be his directorial debut. The script was written in cooperation with Marcin Baczyński and Mariusz Kuczewski. The role of the main character was played by Leszek Lichota, who appeared in such series as “Agata’s Law”, “Na Wspólnej” or “Wataha”. He said about his role in “Znachorze”: “I come from the generation that grew up in Poland. I am very happy that I could impersonate such an important figure for Polish culture.”
