We eat oranges a lot, especially in the autumn and winter. We eat the juicy flesh, but what do we do with the skins? Of course they go in the trash. Occasionally, you’ll save them to make candied orange peel, but not everyone goes for it. What if we told you that from this waste you can prepare a simple agent that will fight dirt?
Everyone knows salt, soda and vinegar. And the skins?
Usually, we use detergents from stores to fight dirt. Their operation, however, is not always satisfactory, and in addition we often have to pay a lot of money for them. Before we do this, it is worth testing home remedies. Most often we use salt, baking soda, lemon juice or vinegar for this purpose. A popular drug will also be useful for some household chores, which we wrote about in a separate article:
We throw the good stuff in the trash
One such home remedy also includes orange peels, which would normally end up in the trash. As it turns out, they are perfect as a stain remover. It is enough to pour vinegar over them so that nothing protrudes above its surface, and then leave it in a dark place for 2 weeks. In the meantime, we mix the contents once in a while. After 14 days, strain the liquid and pour it preferably into the washer. How to stain clothes with orange vinegar?
Nothing easier! Simply spray the stain and wipe it with a cloth. When it dries, the stain should disappear, if not, it is worth repeating the whole procedure. Of course, this product, as well as those from stores, will work best on fresh dirt. So let’s not wait, let’s start now. Remember that, as with other means, it is worth testing this remedy first in an invisible place. As for the smell of vinegar, it evaporates quickly – but if it bothers us, we can throw the clothes into the wash.
