Women’s earnings are a topic that evokes a lot of emotions. This is perfectly visible in one of the posts that recently appeared on the Instagram profile @finansekobiet. It presents nine women working in different professions and gives their salaries. The attention of Internet users and Internet users was particularly drawn to the salary of a veterinarian.

The salary of a veterinarian is definitely too low in my opinion in relation to the responsibility and requirements that are associated with this profession.
I would like to draw attention to the fact that in most cases it is not the profession itself that determines the earnings. We can be a veterinarian who works in a clinic on a 1/2 or 3/4 time and earn little. We can be a veterinarian who runs his own office and earn a lot. Of course, I believe that the pay should be decent for everyone, especially for people in such necessary and important professions that require education. But it’s certainly not worth approaching life with the assumption “this is what I have and I can’t do anything about it.”

Although on the surface it may seem that the gender pay gap in the labor market is similar, the data show that there is still much to be done in this regard. The wage gap in Poland was 4.8 percent.
