Co-financing for the nursery 2023 is up to PLN 400 every month! Not every parent will get the money

Providing care for a child is often a challenge and expense. In such a case, some parents may submit an application for funding for a nursery, children’s club or day caregiver, which will amount to PLN 400 per month. What must be done and what conditions must be met to receive them?

Parents who do not receive family care capital (RKO) can count on subsidies of up to PLN 400 per month. As a reminder, CPR is granted for the second and each subsequent child in the family from the age of 12 to 35 months and amounts to PLN 500 per month for two years or PLN 1,000 for a year.

Who will receive funding? 400 plus not only for the first child

Because parents who had decided to have one child earlier could not count on similar support, a subsidy commonly known as 400 plus was introduced. It aims to help them provide care and reduce the costs associated with it. Therefore, the subsidy of up to PLN 400 only applies guardians of the first or only child in the family, as well as subsequent ones, who will be younger (under 12 months) or older (over 35 months) than the aforementioned age criterion.

Can the subsidy be used for kindergarten? The answer is not obvious

in the form of up to PLN 400 per month, you can spend the child’s stay in:

  • nursery,
  • children’s club,
  • with a day caregiver.

It is important that they must be registered in a special list that you will find. It is also worth knowing that, as a rule, the subsidy cannot be used for kindergarten fees. Nevertheless, some private institutions that have been entered in the above-mentioned register are nothing more than non-public pre-school departments, for which the funds received in this way can be allocated.

What do you have to do to receive funding? The money will not go to the parents

Co-financing in the form of 400 plus is not granted ex officio. This means that in order to receive them, an application must be submitted, but not earlier than on the day when the child goes to a nursery, club or under the care of a day caregiver. You can do it online, through PUE ZUS, the Emp@tia portal, and even electronic banking, if your bank has such an option. After granting the funding, it will not go “in the hands” of parents, but directly to the facility’s accountor a day caregiver. If the fee for care is lower, the amount of co-financing will also decrease. It can amount to a maximum of PLN 400.
