We already saw the first two chapters of ‘Ahsoka’, the series derived from Star Wars, on Disney Plus

Five actresses form the central cast of Ahsokathe live action series belonging to the Star Wars fantasy that Disney Plus released this week. Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as her Padawan Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as General Hera Syndulla, Ivanna Sakhno as mercenary Shin Hati, and Diana Lee Inosanto as the Imperialist Morgan Elsbeth.

Created and written by Dave Filoni, Ahsoka explores the quests of all of them, as this time the male characters are the ones who are lost, perhaps forever or waiting to be rescued. The protagonist suspects that Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen), the heir presumptive to the empire, is still alive.and wants to find it before the sympathizers.

Your former student Sabine Wren is obsessed with knowing the fate of her teammate Ezra Bridger. (Eman Esfandi), who reportedly gave his life to defeat Thrawn at the Battle of Lothal. Syndulla has lost someone important, but has accepted that he can’t get him back, which doesn’t stop him from supporting Ahsoka and Sabine. And Hati and Elsbeth are hot on Thrawn’s heels too, for reasons of their own.

‘Ahsoka’, the Disney+ series, debuts August 23 with two episodes, here’s what we know so far

There are former Jedi Knights (Ahsoka Tano isn’t the only one who left the Order), generals, expadawans, mercenaries and even witches in the series, the first two chapters of which premiered last Tuesday. AND The general opinion shared here is that we are dealing with the continuation, albeit in a different format, of the 2014 animated series, also the work of Filoni, Star Wars Rebels.

How is this explained? rebels It has four seasons, the last of which aired in 2018. The final episode, which takes place in the probable deaths of Thrawn and Ezra Bridger, shows Ahsoka and the Mandalorian Sabine teaming up as a teacher and Padawan, and one of the final images is a mural painted by Sabine depicting her family of rebels, the crew of the Ghost, when the latter was whole and happy.

With this mural, he also opens the first episode, showing us that happiness is something that is wanted in the Republic more than what it has. The rebels have disbanded. On planets like Lothal, celebrations and tributes take place, but behind them lies great dissatisfaction, while the threat from the imperialists grows stronger. Ahsoka and Sabine have broken off their relationship as Jedi and Padawan, just as Anakin once abandoned Ahsoka. Here the central theme of the series, something that recurs in Star Wars, is emphasized: the importance of the master-apprentice relationship to the Force. Ahsoka works alone, but her need for someone to support her is obvious, and as her current companion, the legendary droid Huyang, points out, that is the role of a Padawan.

‘Ahsoka’: The First Two Episodes Premiere Tuesday, August 22 at 8 p.m. (Ecuador Time) on Disney Plus

Dave Filoni, saying so it doesn’t matter if it hasn’t been seen rebels (yes, right), he has described his heroine as a ronin, a wandering samurai from the Jedi world, doing good deeds where she can, but always suspicious that a greater evil is about to strike. Now her clue is a coveted star map that shows her the location of Thrawn (and Ezra?), but also pits her against new enemies, led by Elsbeth and former Jedi Knight Baylan Skoll.

Whoever trained Dawson for the character’s physical demands has been, too Chinese martial artist and stuntwoman Min Qiuwho, according to producer Jon Favreau, has elevated the battle scenes with lightsabers, weapons that Filoni wants to present not just as a flash of technology, but as sentient objects imbued with the Jedi philosophy, which has cost much since the beginning bushido, the moral code of the samurai.

Has anyone in the fandom complained about the prominence of women? Yes, were they the majority? No, a large part of the fandom is happy about that rebels – billed at the time as “the best of Star Wars in recent years”, stay current.

The next episode of Ahsoka (and the rest) is coming out every Tuesday at 8 p.m. in Ecuadorfrom Disney Plus.
