Some concerts are spectacles after which emotions stay with us for a very long time. For all those looking for inspiration, I decided to ask passers-by which concert in their lives they remember best and why. This material is an amazing journey through the decades in popular music.

We all interpret music differently. For some people, the best musical event will be a concert of an independent band in an alternative cafe, and still others will need a world-class show to feel great satisfaction from participating in the event.

“It’s fun when you know what you’re listening to”

Residents of Warsaw of all ages took part in our survey, which is why the answers are very diverse. The first of the interlocutors turned out to be a young boy who had the opportunity to participate in the last concert of Travis Scott, which took place in the Circus Maximus, the oldest hippodrome in ancient Rome. “I bought the tickets the day before, on Sunday evening, and on Monday I flew at 6 am from Warsaw. (…) It was an expedition, because I flew alone” – he said.

In turn, another man pointed to a concert by The Cure, which took place in 2010 in Berlin. When asked why this performance stuck in his memory the most, he replied: “The experience of experiencing songs together by the audience. Such a community of experience.” He also admitted that the next concert of the British band did not make such an impression on him, because the singer was not in the best health condition.

The young woman, on the other hand, admitted that she fondly remembers the Open’er Festival in 2008, to which she was taken by her father as a little girl. She remembers the concert of Erykah Badu, who was the queen of neo soul at that time. “We managed to break quite close to the stage and my dad kept me on his shoulders. I remember it very fondly,” she admitted.

I also managed to talk to a middle-aged man who admitted that he had never been to a concert in his life. At first I couldn’t believe what he was saying and I started asking him if he had attended a concert at the philharmonic even during his elementary school years. “I wasn’t,” he replied proudly.
