Zinemaldia hosts the European premiere of the film ‘The Boy and the Heron’ by Hayao Miyazaki

The 71st edition of the San Sebastian Festival will begin on Friday, September 22, with the screening of the latest film by director Hayao Miyazaki, “Kimitachi wa Do Ikiruka / The Boy and the Heron”, at the Kursaal Auditorium.
After passing through the Toronto Festival on September 7, Zinemaldia will host the European premiere of the new proposal by director Hayao Miyazaki, which is also part of the Official Selection.
The film will be screened after the opening gala, and tickets will go on sale on September 4.
The Boy and the Heron is an original story written by its director and the soundtrack is signed by the usual composer of Miyazaki’s films, Joe Hisaishi.
Who is Hayao Miyazaki?
Miyazaki (Tokyo, 1941) founded Studio Ghibli in 1985 with Isao Takahata. Since then he has directed films such as Spirited Away (2001), Howl’s Moving Castle (2004) and the wind rises (2013).
He has received numerous awards such as the Berlin Golden Bear and the Oscar for best animated film for Spirited Away and broke all box office records in Japan. Howl’s Moving Castle It was also nominated for an Oscar and received the Osella Award at the Venice Festival.
In 2012 Miyazaki was named a Person of Cultural Merit by the Government of Japan. In 2014 he received the Honorary Academy Award for Lifetime Achievement and was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Awards Hall of Fame.
