Medrano arrives in Quito and Guayaquil in September with a revamped show: ‘outfits’, visuals and staging to amuse his fans

The Colombian artist Grammy winner, spoke to this newspaper about preparations for his next tour of Ecuador which will take you to Quito and Guayaquil in mid-September.

In addition, expected that he has just shot a new music video in New York for the next single from Eternalhis latest album.

Medrano will sing in the House of Culture of Quito on Saturday, September 16 and in Guayaquil, the chosen scenario is the Convention Center, for the night of Thursday, September 14. Tickets now on sale at Ticket show.

What expectations do you have when you come to Ecuador?

I am very excited to be able to return to Ecuador, to have this great opportunity to visit this country that has given me so many beautiful things. I’m really happy and now that I’ve added Guayaquil to the tour I’m getting more excited because I haven’t been there in years and so has Quito. I think it’s a country that has a very special connection to my music, so I’m happy to go.

For those who haven’t had the chance to see you live, how would you describe that experience?

Well, it’s really crazy. It is a show very powerful musical where the audience connects a lot with the songs and I think also with themselves. We introduce five musicians on stage, a band consisting of drums, bass, guitar and pianos. I also play the guitar and sometimes I just sing along with the crowd. It is a show very nice and it makes me very happy to be able to take it back to Ecuador and especially now that we have a much wider repertoire.

What will be the repertoire you have prepared?

It is a new repertoire, a show new, and when I say new it’s because we play different songs. clothes new, the staging, the lights and visuals, everything is new. So we’re very excited because of this tour It’s very strong and I think it also shows a little bit of the evolution and everything we’ve grown as an artist in the last eight years of our career.

Does this also apply to new versions of the hits?

We always go the extra mile at concerts current to the music. We play songs from my new album, Eternal, but also the classics that the public loves. It is a show very complete and very powerful.

Tell me about Eternal…

It’s an album full of very powerful songs, with a backbone of stone quite important, but at the same time with a series of exotic songs that are very much in line with the history of Latin American music that I grew up with. It’s a very organic album that I’m sure they’ll connect with. We’re launching one of the videos for the songs on this album called Distancea bolero that has caught on a lot with our audience lately and which will obviously also be one of the songs we’re going to play.

Which artists are in your playlists?

Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of Colombian and Latin American artists. I recently discovered an artist from Peru that I adore called Daniela Lalita and so on with other Latino artists who have recently caught my eye.

Who is Medrano if he isn’t making music?

I have many personalities and I think there are many activities that I enjoy going to the gym every day, to yoga. I also have a very desirable facet as a farmer, I really like planting plants, mowing the grass. While I have other additional projects, which are more personal, what occupies my time the most and connects me most to my spirituality and to myself is creating art, writing songs, playing guitar, making music, and there is a large percentage of my life devoted to it. And of course there is quality time with my family and friends.

And besides that inner circle you also have your virtual community, how is that interaction with your followers?

It’s very important. I’ve realized that an artist’s growth today is closely tied to his ability to connect with his own fans through social networks and I am very excited that our fans day by day they are more and more connected to what I do and my social media content. Every day I also connect more to social networks, although it was not my habit, but I try to stay connected to interact with my audience.
