The Social Policy and Family Committee is working on the Left’s project, which assumes changes in granting a pension after a deceased spouse. The government also has an idea for changes in this, but “Solidarity” decided to propose its own solution. They want the widow’s pension to continue to be paid under the same conditions as it is now. However, they want to help seniors with extra cash in a slightly different way. Currently, the nursing supplement is paid automatically when the senior reaches the age of 75. Then, together with the old-age or disability pension, an additional PLN 294.39 is transferred to his account, which is to be credited to the household budget. However, “Solidarity” proposes changes in the payment of benefits to seniors. They assume that with age, the amount of the nursing allowance would increase accordingly. Thus, those over 80 would receive twice this benefit, which at the moment gives about PLN 588.78. And those who turn 85 would be paid three times the care allowance, which gives a bonus of PLN 883.17 every month. At the moment, it is not yet known whether the project will come into force and when it will happen.
