So far it has been one of the biggest music events in Poland. organized since 2019, it was very popular, gathering crowds each time. From 9 to 13 August 2023, its next edition was to take place in Park Śląski, but only 5 days before the start, the organizer, i.e. the Follow The Step agency, canceled the event.
Festival canceled. The company declared bankruptcy
It turns out that the stars, i.e. Chemical Brothers, Youngblud or rapper Oki, did not attract enough people for this year’s edition. The reason for the cancellation turned out to be a much smaller than expected turnout, so the organizer was forced to “launch bankruptcy proceedings”.
Everyone with tickets can apply for a refund, unfortunately, in the current situation, we have been forced to launch bankruptcy proceedings, which prevents the company from paying any amounts due at the moment. This is the only way today that allows us to account for the organization of the festival.
– announced in an official communiqué on . Contradictory information regarding the refund for purchased tickets began to come from everywhere. Of course, every person who has made a payment has the right to demand a refund, but the situation is not optimistic for everyone.
Fest Festival 2023. Who will not get a refund for tickets? We check
In the event of bankruptcy, the organizer of the Fest Festival is blocked from disposing of the funds, unless the court rejects the company’s application. However, there is still the issue of sales intermediaries, and not all of them will feel responsible. Tickets and passes could be obtained using the offers of various distributors, including e.g. eBilet, FollowTheStep, Empik and Goingapp.pl. It turns out that the last of them will not give money to all festivalgoers. The decision depends on the date of purchase.
People who decided to purchase before November 7, 2022 can be calm, because they will receive a refund automatically within 14 days. However, the situation of those who decided to participate in the Fest Festival after this date is not as optimistic. It turns out that later the platform offered only sales, and the party in the contract to which the money for the purchases was transferred was the organizer, which makes him obliged to refund customers. It is not known how this situation will be finally resolved, but the would-be participants of the festival do not hide their indignation, and well-known law firms announce their willingness to help solve the contentious issue on the Internet.
