Who is entitled to the 14th pension in 2023? Not everyone will receive additional support in full

it is officially known that the 14th pension is introduced permanently and will be paid not only this year, but also in the following ones. It turns out that the entitled, as in previous years, do not have to submit any applications, because they will receive the money. The full amount of the benefit is to be equal to the minimum old-age pension, i.e. in 2023 it will amount to PLN 1,588.44 gross. Who can count on support?

“Fourteen” is also available to pensioners who in 2023 did not exceed the established income threshold. This is PLN 2,900 gross. If they receive more, the payment will be reduced according to the “PLN for PLN” principle – up to PLN 50. Below this amount, the benefit will no longer be granted. Pensioners who receive benefits above PLN 4,438.44 gross will not receive the “fourteen” at all. It should not be forgotten that the 14th pension is covered by personal income tax (12%) and health insurance contributions (9%).

It turns out that this year the time of payment of the benefit is flexible. This means that there is no fixed, specific date when eligible persons will receive their 14th pension. The decision on the date will be taken by the Council of Ministers. Taking into account last year’s payment dates, it is likely that the money will go to the accounts of pensioners in August and September.
