For its part, the Madrid City Council has stressed that the Reggaeton Beach Festival “is not going to take place” in the Iberdrola Music space and sees it as “difficult” for them to find another location that receives the pertinent permits and files between today and tomorrow. The spokesperson for the municipal government, vice mayor and delegate for Security and Emergencies, Inmaculada Sanz, has reported at a press conference that the mobility report presented by the promoters yesterday, Wednesday, was “incomplete”.

However, the organizer of the Reggaeton Beach Festival (RBF) has asked the Madrid City Council for a urgent meeting to address the cancellation of the event and has assured that it has not received official communication from the capital city council. This has been indicated in a new statement.

The organizer has stressed that “he still has not received any type of formal communication, from the Madrid City Council, in relation to the administrative situation of the festival.” “At this time the organization of the festival regrets having to come up against the statements made by the municipal spokesperson, to make it clear that RBF continues without receiving any type of formal communicationby the city council, about a possible denial of permits to carry out the festival during the next weekend”, he pointed out.

Regarding the technical characteristics of the Iberdrola Music venue, the promoter has defended that they are conditions “well known” by the City hallwhich has allowed this venue to have the administrative permits to develop the festivals that have taken place this summer in these facilities.

“Compared to other previous festivals like Mad Cool or the one of Harry Styles that gathered more than 65,000 people daily and that ended at 2:00 in the morning, the RBF has a mobility device according to the 38,000 people who should attend the festival of reggaeton, approximately 50% of the public attending Mad Cool and, on the other hand, the RBF’s schedule will end at midnight, which will facilitate the hours of use of public transport and all the logistics of the shuttles organized by the festival and at a time that will avoid neighborhood disturbances when it ends at midnight, as and we go is planned in its programming”, he explained.
