The International Folklore Festival of Portugalete will begin its 48th edition this Monday, which will take place mainly on Paseo de la Canilla, on Carlos VII street and at the Puente Colgante Hotel until Tuesday, July 25.

The festival will once again bring together folkloric, cultural and dance groups from different parts of the world, such as Indonesia, Mexico, Uganda, Colombia and Romania, under the organization of the Portuguese group Elai Alai. The recitals can be followed live on eitb.eus from 9:30 p.m.

Monday will be the opening day, in which the representatives of all the countries will take part. On Tuesday it will be the turn of Indonesia and Mexico, on Wednesday of Uganda and Colombia and on Thursday of Romania and Euskadi.

The groups that take part, as in other years, will also visit other Basque towns on the following dates. On the 16th the Krida Budaya group from Indonesia will be in RenterĂ­a, on the 18th the Romanian group Doina Timisului will be in Galdakao, where on the 19th the Mexicans will be Viva Chihuahua and in Getxo, Usansolo, Sopela, Sondika or Elgoibar, among other venues, where the Colombian Otrora or the Ugandan Crane Performers will also be there.
