Your favorite gaming trio is back! This time Waldek, Staszek and Delfina will experience a summer full of adventures in the Tatra Mountains. During the trip, Waldek accidentally learns that his father lives in the area, about whom he only heard from his mother that he abandoned their family a long time ago. The boy decides to find him at all costs and personally ask about the reasons for this decision. Together with Staszek, under the cover of night, they set off on a search.
The dangers lurking for them on the mountain trail are nothing compared to the task that Delfina receives. A creative teenager must hide the truth about the disappearance of the boys from her unsuspecting aunt, Waldek’s mother and… her new partner. What twists will this secret mission bring to all the heroes’ lives? Will Waldek receive answers to his tormenting questions and understand his father’s behavior?
The second part of “Too Big for Fairy Tales” is fast approaching!
– After the screenings of the film “Too big for fairy tales”, the audience asked us: what about Waldek’s father? Many young people grow up without one parent. In the first part, we focused on the problems associated with the threat of the mother leaving, now we focus on the problems related to the absent father. I see it as a film not only for children, but more for the whole family. Personally, I miss suggestions that I can see with the whole family, I’m looking for movies that are smart, touching, but also those that make you laugh a little. Such is life, full of difficult choices, especially as you grow up. But you have to allow yourself to laugh more … even through tears – says the director of the film Kristoffer Rus.
“Too big for fairy tales 2” is a continuation of the hit “Too big for fairy tales” from 2022, which was the most watched Polish family film in the 21st century. The film had its premiere in cinemas in March, and already in the summer it was added to the international offer of Netflix, causing a sensation not only in Poland, but also around the world. The title appeared at the top of the Top 10 list of most watched foreign-language films.
On the screen we will again see Maciej Karaś, Amelia Fijałkowska, Patryk Siemek, Karolina Gruszka and Dorota Kolak. The cast was joined by, among others, Paweł Domagała, Michał Żurawski and Grzegorz Małecki. According to the producer of the film, Mikołaj Pokromski, the second part of the production required much more work than the first:
‘Too big for fairy tales 2’ is undoubtedly a much larger production undertaking than the first part, mainly due to the often hard-to-reach locations in the Polish Tatra Mountains. The film will have a bigger momentum and a more adventurous character, but as in the case of the previous part, it will not be devoid of strong emotions and an important message.
The film was shot in Warsaw and Zakopane, among others. in the Jan Kasprowicz museum on Harenda and on Kasprowy Wierch. The producer of “Too Big for Fairy Tales 2” is Pokromski Studio. NEXT FILM is responsible for distribution. The film will hit the screens in 2024.
