The definitive line-up for Mad Cool Festival 2023 is made up of 101 bands, with names as relevant as The Black Keys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, lizzoQueens of the Stone Age, Sam Smith, The 1975, Nova Twins, Robbie Williams, Lil Nas X, Franz Ferdinand, Tash Sultana, Paolo Nutini, Rina Sawayama, Jamie XX or Machine Gun Kelly, among others. Those who have already purchased their ticket will be looking forward to this new edition that will have its famous Ferris wheel that has become one of the aesthetic emblems of this event, as well as artificial grass on almost its entire surface, but the great novelty is the change of venue.
This new enclosure located between Getafe and Villaverde will host eight scenarios to which the headliners will climb to make the Madrid capital vibrate and which plans to host the next Harry Styles concert on July 14. In addition, after the 2021 controversy with Uber, the company disappears as an official sponsor and will not have a privileged point for passenger collection and will bet on transport. For this reason, many will want to know what are the alternatives that there will be to go and return from the venue.
Metro and shuttle buses
MadCool spectators will already be wondering what are the best ways to get to the new festival site and the promoters together with the EMT have already established that there will be shuttle buses and an extension of the Madrid Metro hours to facilitate access to the public.
On one hand, the Metro will open until 4 in the morning only on line 3 between the stations of Villaverde Alto and Sol to facilitate the return of those attending the festival, the regional government reported today in a statement. The shuttle will have two stops in Legazpi and Embajadores, only for passenger departures. The trains will circulate with an approximate frequency of 5 minutes.
On the other hand, the EMT will put into operation a night shuttle, with 18 buses, between the festival and Atocha with a connection in Legazpi, so its users can choose to continue their journey in the ‘buhos’ with a stop in both areas from July 6 to 8. The first day will cover the time slot from 11:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. and on the 7th and 8th from 12:15 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Spectators will be able to go to Mad Cool using the buses 22 and 79 of the EMT and the interurban 448, headquartered in Legazpi and which runs along Avenida Real de Pinto. Lastly, the venue can also be accessed from the Villaverde Alto station (Metro Line 3).
