Her charm and class, which she could charm viewers, playing Marilyn Monroe or playing in films such as “Because I’m crazy for her” meant that fans could not take their eyes off the actress. Among those fascinated by the beauty, talent and temperament of the star was Krzysztof Janczar, who met Kownacka at the National Theatre. The infatuation was doomed to failure because the actress was happily married at the time. Eventually, the actors’ paths crossed when they were both divorced. Kownacka was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004. The treatment brought positive results, thanks to which the actress returned to the set of “Foster Family” during the illness, to the delight of the fans. Unfortunately, in 2008 her condition worsened. The artist’s friends helped her as much as they could, in March 2009 a charity concert for the actress was held at the National Theater. Gabriela Kownacka died on November 30, 2010.
Although the actress was loved by many men, her ex-husband was by her side until the end. The star did not want to show herself to anyone in poor condition, she trusted Kownacki. He and his son Franciszek took care of the sick actress until the end of her days. “It was an exceptionally beautiful couple and wonderful people.
