What brought you into the music world?

I have no memory of my life without music. I was born and I think I already had a guitar or drummed at the age of 3. She was always in my life, I didn’t choose her, she chose me. I have no other choice.

How did you become interested in becoming a producer?

I played for a long time, I had my band and in a way amateur I didn’t compose much but I was always making songs with my friends and what interested me most was recording the subject, I helped my band to record. From there I immersed myself in the field of production and engineering in college, which I began to supplement by helping artists compose.

Who was your mentor?

I graduated in 2018, moved to Los Angeles, worked in a studio there with an engineer from Colombia named Luis Saldarriaga. In that same studio he had recorded Luis Fonsi’s album and J Balvin’s and Justin Bieber’s songs a year earlier, so Luis was my first mentor within the industry, on how to behave in the studio, because I was alone in college had learned.

Then I went to Miami to work in production and I’ve been producing ever since.

Have you worked with Lele Pons?

about lele It is funny. When I lived in Miami I produced and composed songs, one of these songs I did was with Pau Pau Rodríguez, who is currently a super big Puerto Rican artist, but at the time (2019) she was only dedicated to composing. So we got that song recorded and started moving it around to see if an artist was interested.

That kept on pause, the manager of this 2023 Lele calls me to tell me ‘hey, lele You just recorded your song, we need you to finish mixing and mastering. We’re sending you her voice and now it needs to come out. Said and done, I added Lele’s voices to the song we had done in 2019 and it now came out in February 2023. The song is the last of his album capitulations that he went out with Guyanais called exclusive.

What inspires you when composing?

Life, all the things that happen all the time. I’m really a life expectancy, it’s a mix between living and seeing things happen. All of that helps you write songs.

What music do you listen to in your free time and how would you describe your style?

It happens to me in stages, I try to keep up, but when I start days of a lot of composition, I try not to listen to outside music, so that the music is born for me. But it’s very varied, that’s what my playlists on Spotify are called influences or chords I like, and only there’s a little bit of everything.

I do have influences from Drake, Frank Ocean… but I also listen to Julio Jaramillo. It all depends on the moment, if I’m very critical of what I’m listening to I try to give it a function. My music to train is one, my music to be inspired by an artist is another, I’m not closed to anything.

What projects are you working on?

A project that fascinates me enormously fat. We have full songs to come out it’s one of the projects I’m most proud of because it’s an Ecuadorian project that we managed to get signed by international record labels it’s currently signed with the label that distributes to Duki, Nicki Nicole and Bizarrapand the publication is signed with Sony Mexico, so reaching from the start that a project already has a structure and a huge company behind it supports gives us great satisfaction and motivates us to keep moving forward.

The change, from the Dominican Republic, is one of my favorite artists I work with; With her we have some problems to get out.

What do you think of the music industry today?

The music industry, like anything else, is always innovating; It’s a space to break paradigms it’s a space of rebellion where the voice is found so it’s always working and it’s going well it’s spreading more and more on the internet so I think it’s something that will unite us constantly .

I think there is a lot of talent in the music industry in Ecuador, but what is missing is the art of doing business. There’s plenty of talent.

What is your biggest goal in the music industry?

As a producer, I always want artists to be their most authentic selves. Obviously I want goals like awards or recognition, but I’m more interested on a personal level that the artists feel like I was someone who helped them always be themselves.
