The new DC Comics universe is taking shape in theaters. James Gunn and Peter Safran have found their new Superman. After speculation about several possible actors, David Corenswet was selected for the costume Superman in the character’s next ribbon.

According to Deadline, the actor David Corenswet and actress Rachel Brosnahan were chosen to bring the new versions to life Superman/Clark Kent and Lois Lane. The decision comes after a select group of actors will perform in front of the DC co-chairs, in full costume.

Other possible candidates for Superman would be Nicholas Hoult and Tom Brittney, while for Lane they were Emma Mackey and Phoebe Dynevor. However, none of them got the paper. Tests were conducted over two days.
