Marcin Dorociński is one of the most famous Polish actors. Viewers loved him for his roles in cult productions such as “PitBull”, “My Daughters of Cows” or “Róża”. He also starred in the famous Netflix miniseries Fri. “The Queen’s Gambit”, where he played the role of an outstanding chess player. However, this is not the end of international fame. Now he will star alongside Tom Cruise himself in the legendary “Mission: Impossible”. Few people know that acting was not Dorociński’s dream since childhood.
He never dreamed of acting at all
Marcin Dorociński was born on June 22, 1973 in Milanówek. His mother graduated from economic technical school, but decided to devote herself to household duties and taking care of her family. Dad, Czesław, was a blacksmith at the Institute of Construction, Mechanization and Electrification of Agriculture in Kłudzienko. In many interviews, Marcin Dorociński was asked if he ever had complexes because of growing up in the provinces. – The province is not a complex. Another thing may weigh you down. Whether you are accepted, and what your parents tell you, how is your home. If your family gives you strength, you have no complexes – he said in an interview with “Gala”.
Dorociński’s childhood was an idyllic period; he spent his free time mostly outdoors with other children. Perhaps that was when his love for football was born. – I had dreams that I was scoring the most important goal in a very big stadium with a lot of people. I woke up in the morning and remembered the dream very well, ”the actor recalled in an interview. Unfortunately, an injury ended his further sports career.
A star is born. “Mom was happy, dad was surprised”
Initially, Dorociński planned to go to culinary school, which he did not get into. So he graduated from a mechanical technical school (specialty: machining). In many interviews, however, he mentioned that he had “two left hands” for any technical work. Perhaps that is why, at the end of technical school, he started thinking about acting school.
He told his parents about his plans only after the exams to the State Higher Theater School. Mom was happy, dad was surprised. He must have been wondering that since his son had already gone to college, maybe he would have chosen some more life topics so that he would at least have a profession – confessed Dorociński, quoted by the Onet portal. Eventually, his career quickly took off. Today, Marcin Dorociński is one of the most famous Polish actors.
