I am 30 years old and my partner and I are saving money for our own apartment. We still have a long way to go. However, we have a plan and we try to implement it as conscientiously as possible. We don’t have a baby yet, we both work. We don’t earn coconuts, but it’s not the lowest in the country either. We used to not feel that saving had any significant impact on our lives. I can honestly say that we lived on a pretty good level. We love traveling, so 2-3 times a year we went somewhere abroad. We also didn’t have to scrupulously check prices when shopping for groceries. And although I have never been a fan of the currently ruling formation, I did not suspect that things in our country would soon go in such a bad direction.
We can’t afford a vacation
However, our situation started to change about 1.5 years ago. We still put money aside and it’s the same amount each month as before. Now, however, we can afford much less than before. I don’t go for nails anymore, I buy much less stuff, my partner quit the gym. We haven’t been on any trips for a year. And that probably won’t change anytime soon. Of course, we could give up saving and go on vacation this year. Together, however, we came to the conclusion that we will not do it, because probably, due to our financial situation, we will not enjoy them anyway.
Our country is going in a really strange direction
We both work honestly as before. And even though we got raises, we can afford much less than in 2018 or 2019. It’s absurd! I think our country is going in a really strange direction. People in power give each other bonuses and raises, and we ordinary people have to face the consequences of their irresponsible policies. Recently, I even argued with my grandmother – a faithful viewer of “WiadomoĊci” TVP. In her opinion, prices are getting lower and people in the country are living better and better. I don’t know where grandma does her shopping and pays her bills, but I really envy her…
