Six contestants face off at first elimination gala of ‘My name is’

On the last night of the first shows of the imitators of ‘Yo me llamo’ (Teleamazonas), in its sixth edition, there was a special presentation by Lina Ojeda, the winning imitator of her show Laura Pausini, in a previous edition of this reality show.

Ojeda performed a musical medley with the hits of the Italian singer. The Ecuadorian judges Pamela Cortés and Erika Vélez were proud of the show, because with this imitation Lina took third place in the Chilean competition Yo soy (similar to this competition).

“We couldn’t be prouder,” Érika Vélez told him. “I want to congratulate you, because after several years you continue with a beautiful voice that becomes more and more beautiful,” Pamela shared with him.

This was followed by the only women’s show tonight, that of Paula Jarawith the theme love died. The recital received positive feedback from the reviewers. Axel told her, “You are doing very well, good handling of the arms and hands, because she is very expressive. Erika for her part said: “I really liked that she walks on stage, she sings with her hands and you did it. He looks like you already have it”.

The next imitation was that of Emmanuelwho intoned I want to sleep tired. “It lacks more vibrato in certain parts, very subtle and typical of Emmanuel,” Pamela noted.

The fourth singer of this gala was Charlie Cardonawho played look within. “Axel, you have to overcome your fears to achieve the character superbly,” advised Axel, a comment his fellow critics agreed with.

He followed Enrique Bunburywith the song Between two countries. While Axel praised the impersonator’s timbre and vibrato, Pamela recommended paying attention to your gestures. “Don’t go beyond the character, no less or more, so that it doesn’t fall into parody.”

The sixth team tonight would imitate the duo Wisin and Yandel, but the contestants did not show up for rehearsals or recordings. However, one of them sent a recorded video justifying what had happened. The decision of the judges and production was to follow the rules of the competition which say if a contestant does not show up at their gala, they will go to an elimination gala.
