Robbie Williams recently appeared at the Pinkpop festival in the Netherlands. There were reports in the media that the singer was not in shape and lacked strength on stage. After the third song he sang that evening, he asked for a break.

When the last notes of the energetic cover of Wilson Pickett’s song “Land of 1000 Dances” resounded on the stage in Landgraaf, Williams ran out of breath. The band had already started playing his own song “Monsoon” from 2002, but the artist told him to stop.

Williams took a deep breath, put his hands on his knees, then, looking exhausted, rubbed his eyes. “I’m fucked” – he addressed the audience, then explained where his poor condition came from. “It’s chronic covid. It’s not that I’m old,” he signaled. Despite the tiredness and apparent effort that Williams had to put into the concert, the singer continued the performance. He performed 16 more songs for the audience, including hits such as “Rock DJ” and “Angels”.

Aleksandra van Eenennaam, a journalist of the ad.nl portal, in relation to the readers’ event that, regardless of the reasons for his lack of condition, “Williams seems to be old and lifeless.” Despite this, she found numerous positives of the concert, noting that the artist still does not lack charisma and great contact with the audience.

According to news.com, Williams has publicly reported that he contracted COVID-19 twice. He contracted the virus for the first time in April 2020. He said that he felt very lethargic and heavy and spent three weeks in isolation away from his family home, wife and children. The artist got sick for the second time in January 2021 on vacation. According to Williams, there must have been more cases.
