After the summer break, we come back to the new studio. We start with a film that received, among others the audience award in Gdynia, that is the production of “Johnny” by Daniel Jaroszek. Of course, we are also talking about other premieres – from this episode we have more than three in the program.
Movie premieres (and not only): “Johnny”, “Don’t worry, baby”, “Blonde” …
“Johnny” is a story about the relationship of Fr. Jan Kaczkowski and Patryk Galewski. – I wrote this story so that even the most depressed man would believe that a new, good life can begin in unimaginable, extreme circumstances. It is a story about the victory of life and love. A true story, says screenwriter Maciej Kraszewski, who is also the author of the book of the same title.
Certainly less true is the story told by the creators of “Don’t Worry, Baby” – Olivia Wilde’s film. The production had its world premiere in Venice and so far it is much louder than the film itself about the dramas related to the people working on it. Therefore, we decided that this would be the topic of the “We need to talk about it” segment.
Among the movie premieres there is also a documentary about Dawid Bowie and “The Blonde” with Ana De Armas. The production won a 14-minute standing ovation at the film’s world premiere at the Venice Film Festival. Director Andrew Dominik has been looking for a suitable actress for nearly a decade, Naomi Watts and Jessica Chastain have been associated with the project. In an interview with “Vanity Fair”, the filmmaker said that he was sure that Ana de Armas was the “one” for the role of Marylin Monroe after the first audition.
