He Alaves added on June 17, 2023 its sixth promotion to the First Division in 102 years history, after beating Levante 0-1 at the Ciutat de Valencia stadium, in the second leg of the final for promotion to First Divisionthanks to a converted penalty from Asier Villalibre in the extension discount.

The first albiazul promotion took place in the 1929-1930 season with coach Francisco Baona on the bench.
