On May 28, Iron Maiden kicked off their “Future Past Tour” with a performance in Slovenia. The band has prepared a set for fans, containing both songs from the latest release “Senjutsu” and immortal hits like “Can I Play With Madness”, “Fear of the Dark” or “Iron Maiden”. The biggest surprise of the tour is definitely the addition of the song “Alexander the Great” to the repertoire. Iron Maiden served fans from Slovenia a truly historic moment. The musicians played live the aforementioned song from the album “Somewhere in Time” from 1986 for the first time in history.
Iron Maiden in Poland. The group played “Alexander the Great” for the first time in history
Iron Maiden has also planned two concerts in Poland, in Krakow’s TAURON Arena. One of them took place on June 13, and the next musicians will play today (June 14). Also, Polish fans could hear the song “Alexander the Great”, awaited for almost 40 years. In addition, the group also played “Wasted Years”, “The Trooper”, “Days of Future Past”, “Heaven Can Wait” and “The Writing on the Wall”.
However, not all fans were happy with the choice of numbers. There were voices online that the band included too many songs from “Senjutsu” in the set instead of filling it with big hits. Compositions such as “The Number of the Beast” or “Run to the Hills” did not resound in TAURON Arena. It is worth noting, however, that with such a large output, choosing a dozen or so pieces that will meet the expectations of thousands of audience is an impossible task.
In anticipation of Iron Maiden’s second performance in Poland, fans of the group are wondering if the formation has prepared changes in the set for this occasion and what they will look like. We will soon find out whether the musicians have anticipated further surprises for their listeners. Tickets for the event are still available for purchase on the organizer’s website – Live Nation and at the box office.
