The Mendizabala space, in Vitoria-Gasteiz, is already prepared to host the twenty-first edition of the Azkena Rock Festival on June 15, 16 and 17. The programming had already been revealed, and in a presentation ceremony held today the organization recalled that it will be possible to see and listen to, among others, Iggy Pop, The Pretenders, Rancid, Lucinda Williams, Incubus, Melvins, Alter Bridge, The Soundtrack of Our Lives and El Drogas, with a repertoire of songs by Barricada.
For its part, in the Trashville area, which brings the atmosphere of a concert hall to a great festival, The Kaisers, The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band, The Phantom Surfers and Generador will play.
In addition, the ARF will travel from Mendizabala to the center of the city; The Fuzillis will play on Saturday at noon in the Plaza de la Virgen Blanca, and on Sunday it will be the turn of Chuck Prophet & The Mission Express.
Practical information
In order to access the venue, the public must exchange their ticket for the official wristband at the designated points in front of the Mendizorroza Sports Center, at the following times: Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 01:00 a.m. :00 a.m., and Friday and Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 02:00 a.m.
All payments at the festival site (food and drink, merchandising, bumper cars…) will be made with the electronic system cashless integrated into the access bracelets to the venue, which can be charged from the mobile phone, with a card or also in cash at the physical recharging points set up in the venue.
Those under the age of 14 will be able to enter for free, while young people between the ages of 15 and 23 will have a discount (109 euros for the voucher).
In addition, the round trip to Azkena from Bilbao, Pamplona, Alsasua, San Sebastián, Zarautz and Arrasate can be done by bus (from 20 euros per trip) and there will be camping near the venue.
