How much will the radio and television license fee be in 2024? The amount will not change

RTV subscription fees were raised in 2023. For this reason, we had to pay a few more per month for the use of radio and television. In January, the amounts changed by 16% (receivables for radio) and 11.4% (receivables for television). Despite the constantly rising inflation rates in 2024 will not change. This means that:

• the radio subscription will be PLN 8.70 per month,
• a television or radio and television subscription will amount to PLN 27.30 per month.

Not everyone has to pay subscription fees. Exempted from this obligation are, among others: persons over 75 and pensioners over 60 receiving a pension not exceeding 50 percent of the average monthly salary. Who else is not obliged to pay for the use of radio and television?

• Veterans who are war or military invalids,
• persons included in the first disability group,
• persons receiving a care benefit, a special care allowance or a social pension,
• deaf and blind people.

All subscribers, on the other hand, have the opportunity to reduce their fees thanks to special discounts. They can be obtained by paying fees for a period longer than one month. The longer the period, the less you pay. You will spend 10% less for a year-long radio and television subscription. What happens if we decide not to pay the RTV subscription? In this case, we are threatened with a financial penalty of 30 times the monthly rate (PLN 261 for the radio, PLN 819 for the TV). Poczta Polska has the right to carry out checks to verify whether a particular person has a radio or television receiver.
