Michael Grimm has been in the hospital for over a week – doctors still don’t know what’s wrong with him. His wife Lucie Zolcerva-Grimm decided to inform the fans what was happening to the musician. In a very emotional recording on Instagram, she explained that the singer had had health problems for several months. Many of his admirers noted that recently “he definitely lacked strength, so he was unable to play concerts properly.”

The situation was relatively stable, but at the beginning of June Grimm’s health deteriorated drastically. Then his wife decided to take him to the hospital. “He looked sickly, until one day he suddenly lost his strength. He could barely walk, he couldn’t keep his head upright, and when I asked him something, he couldn’t answer right away, he was very confused,” she described the symptoms.
In the hospital, the symptoms worsened. According to his wife, the singer “began raving, convulsions set in, and his blood pressure kept rising.” Doctors placed him in the intensive care unit, where he remains until now.
“Doctors put him on a ventilator to be safe and gave him lots of medication to prevent strokes and cardiac arrest. The good news is that the situation has stabilized enough for Michael to breathe on his own without the help of a ventilator. His body has gone through a lot of last week, doctors are still keeping him in a medically induced coma to prevent strokes and stabilize his blood pressure.” Zolcerva-Grimm adds that medics still do not know the cause of the disease.
Grimm’s wife remains grateful for the care and adds that her husband not only needs to regain consciousness, but also needs physiotherapy. After a week in a coma, his body has become very weak, and the unused muscles will need to be restored to normal function. “Michael also temporarily lost his voice, after a week under a ventilator he will have to undergo vocal cord rehabilitation. Psychotherapy will also be needed to help him recover. All this can take a long time” – he explains.
Michael Grimm used the money he won to buy a house for his grandmother and grandfather, who became homeless after Hurricane Katrina took all their possessions. He also admitted that being a shy person by nature, he was unable to cope with the sudden fame. Overwhelmed by the media hype, he withdrew for a few years, which caused his career to lose momentum.
