India will host the 71st edition of the Miss World pageant

This was announced by the Miss World organization on Thursday India will be the host country for the 71st edition of this beauty pageantwhich will be held at the end of this year 2023.

It said the decision to award the competition to an Asian nation was based on the nation’s “rich cultural heritage, its commitment to promoting diversity and its passion for women’s empowerment”.

“I have had a great affection for India since the first moment I visited this amazing country more than 30 years ago. We are eager to share its unique and diverse culture, world-class attractions and breathtaking locations with the rest of the world.“, said Julia Morley, president and CEO of the Miss World organization.

It is estimated that competitors from more than 130 countries will take part in the competition. They will take part in a series of rigorous competitions, including talent showcases, sporting challenges and charity initiatives.

There will be several rounds to shortlist the participants in the period of one month before the grand final scheduled for November or December of this year.

The city that will host the final gala ceremony, where the successor of the Polish Karolina Bielawska, winner of the competition in 2022, will be crowned, has not been specified.
