There were a few surprising moments during the Sunday final of Britain’s Got Talent. Such a moment was the performance of Susan Boyle, who is one of the program’s icons. Her confession excited the public.

Between the struggles of the finalists of the 16th edition of the British “Got Talent”, the real legend of this program – Susan Boyle – unexpectedly entered the stage. A woman endowed with an unusual voice caused quite a sensation when she decided to take part in the third edition of the program. Mainly because of his vocal skills, but also because of his unusual appearance. After 14 years from the broadcast, she returned to the stage of the program and performed the same song that made her an international star, i.e. the song “I Dreamed a Dream” from the musical Les Misérables. This time she performed it in a duet with Lucie Jones, and they were accompanied on stage by the cast of the musical show.

Susan Boyle reappeared on the “Got Talent” stage. It was an extraordinary show

The performance of both singers was full of emotional raptures, but after its completion the atmosphere became even more tender. All thanks to the confession made by Susan Boyle in an interview with the hosts of the program. She admitted that she suffered a minor stroke in April last year. She had great fears at that time, which she could not get rid of for a long time. She worried that she would never perform live again:

It’s a great feeling [być tu znowu – przyp. red.] – this is special for me because last April I suffered a minor stroke. (…) I thought I would never return to the stage, but I made it – admitted the 62-year-old.

It was probably the artist’s first performance since the stroke. Its uniqueness was sealed by Simon Cowell, who turned to the singer, thanking her for participating in the program. He stated that “Mam Talent” gained a lot from her participation and admitted that he was stunned by her performance. He also revealed that he knew about Boyle’s struggle with the disease beforehand. However, her performance during the season finale was to be kept secret until the end.

Susan, we owe you so much, I knew you weren’t well, but if anyone should come back, it’s definitely you. It wouldn’t be the same without you,” concluded Simon Cowell.

Susan Boyle won the third season of Britain’s Got Talent, which aired in 2009. Initially, the artist was ridiculed by the viewers of the program because of her presence and lack of sophistication, but she quickly became one of the most popular singers in the world. Her albums sold like hotcakes all over the world.
