Big absences from the sitcom were the Olsen sisters, who refused to participate. With their decision, they caused the anger of Uncle Jesse Katsopolis, a character played by John Stamos since 1987.

On the podcast “And that’s what you REALLY missed“, Stamos reflected on the anger he felt towards the twins when he found out their position on the new project. In the original series, the sisters alternated in the roles of Michelle Tanner, one of the three daughters of Danny Tanner, played by Bob Saget.

He admitted that he was once angry with the sisters who finally retired from acting in 2012 to pursue their personal fashion projects and then created the label “The Row”.

“When I was doing ‘Fuller House,’ they wouldn’t come back and I got mad for a second,” John Stamos recalled on the podcast.

For a moment, Stamos thought that the Olsen sisters didn’t like the part of their childhood or their performance on the family comedy series and were therefore reluctant to reprise the role that made them famous on television.

Although Mary-Kate and Ashley did not join the spin-off, they patched things up with John Stamos in January 2022 following the death of his fictional father Bob Saget, who died aged 65 from a head injury.

The trio met after the physical disappearance of Saget, who played the lead role of a widowed father who needed help raising the DJ’s three daughters, Stephanie and Michelle.

“They came to my house. They brought pork cutlet and sage. I don’t know why, but thanks. It was a frozen pork chop, so it was very good. That’s how we were united again”, the actor and musician recalled that meeting with which he renewed his friendship with Olsen.
