If you notice a tick on your skin, get rid of it immediately. Two scenarios are possible here: when the arachnid has not bitten into the skin and when it has already attached itself. Unfortunately, we most often encounter the second case. What should I do then? First of all, do not panic and act as quickly as possible. All to reduce the risk of infection. The tick should be grasped close to the skin and removed with a firm movement. Under no circumstances should it be twisted to avoid contamination. You can remove the tick quickly and easily with tweezers, tick traps or a loop – you can buy each of the tools at the pharmacy. If you don’t have these on hand, you can go to your GP or night help for help.

What to do with a removed tick or one that has not yet penetrated the skin? One effective trick is enough to deal with it. Slide the individual between two sheets or a thicker layer of toilet paper. Then rub the bundle with the bottom of the glass. This procedure will make it no longer a threat to you and other household members. You can optionally slide it off the body into a bowl and pour alcohol or vodka over it. After a few minutes, the tick will no longer be a threat. Remember, however, that when you remove a tick from your body and within a month of the event you notice erythema in this place, go to the doctor right away.

What repels ticks? Homemade specialty will keep them away

As they say, prevention is better than cure, and this is especially the case with ticks. In the spring and summer, it is worth spraying the body with a home-made mixture that will effectively scare them away. Ticks do not tolerate the smell of geranium, lavender or cloves. Therefore, you should pour jojoba oil or olive oil into a bottle with an atomizer, and then drop 20 drops of the selected fragrance of an essential oil, e.g. This mixture can be sprayed on the body and ticks will stay away.
