Don Francisco and his fear of death

The next host of the Viña del Mar festival pointed out in one part of the interview that the legendary Chilean host is a reference on television in his country, to which don Francisco replied that he was never considered a reference, on the contrary, he believes that everyone creates their own world.

Also, in one part of the conversation, Mario Kreutzberger looked back on his advanced years and pointed out that it would be “a delusion to say ‘when I’m 90 years old, I’ll do something like that, it’s unlikely'”.

And about the passing years, he added:

It’s bad that I’m in the front row of the theater of life; Good thing I don’t know where I am. My contemporaries are dying, I have friends, like recently Eduardo Ravani; then think about it

Mr. Francisco

Regarding his answer, Pancho Saavedra asks him if he is afraid of death and if he thinks about it.

“We are all afraid of him; I don’t know if we are afraid of that, but that we don’t want to die,” he answered. However, from the wisdom that age gives, he stated that he sometimes thinks about death, but “he can’t keep turning around because that would be an unbearable life.”

In his opinion, “one should think about life, about tomorrow; You have to think about today.”

What is The 80’s Club

After “Sábado Gigante”, the variety show that made him famous among Spanish speakers, Don Francisco remained active on Instagram, where he has more than 700,000 followers, with the space “Reflexiones de Don Francisco” broadcast by CNN since 2021.

And although this year he announced his retirement from Teletón Chile after 44 years of conducting, he continues to dream of new projects.

When Saavedra asked him what he still had to do or live, he did not hesitate to answer that he had things pending, dreams he wanted to fulfill,

“I have been fighting for some time to get a documentary on the story of ‘Sabado Gigante’ for Disney. It was difficult with the pictures, a bit problematic, but those are the dreams one has,” he said.

In addition, he revealed his biggest project:

“I have a new idea called ’80s Club’, I want to do it online, in a club, where all the people who will participate in the club are between 80 and 90 years old, but it’s up to the audience to see. 20s, 30s, 40s”he said excitedly.

“Because when we talk among those of 80, 90, we talk differently than when I talk to you. I have to adapt to you and you adapt to me; but between us we don’t have to adapt,” he added in his thoughts on the future online program.
