Do not plant these plants near a walnut. You can hurt them

However, before we plant in the garden, remember that some plants should not grow in its company. The leaves and walnut shells contain juglone, which is harmful to them and poses no threat to humans and is used in cosmetics and medicine. Plants that should not grow near a walnut include:

  • tomatoes,
  • cucumbers,
  • pea,
  • beans,
  • azaleas,
  • potatoes.

Remember, however, that not all plants are affected by juglone. In addition to the walnut, you can successfully grow ferns, lilacs, onions, beets, thujas and currants.
