It can be collected, for example, by spouses, children, siblings and parents of the deceased, however they most often choose to do so . It is worth knowing, however, that if the widow chooses to retire after her husband, must cancel his download. Moreover, he will not receive the full amount of the deceased spouse’s benefit. Its amount depends on how many members apply for it, i.e.:

  • if it is taken by one person, he will receive 85 percent. benefits,
  • if it is downloaded by two people, it will receive 90 percent. benefits,
  • if three or more people download it, it can count on 95 percent. benefits.

Is widow’s pension a better solution for seniors? Left’s idea

Since the survivor’s pension after the husband is an incomplete amount, it does not always pay off. This can be changed by the proposal of the Left, which created the widow’s pension project. What would it consist of? After the death of the spouse, the senior will be able to:

  • keep your full benefit and receive 50% of your benefits after the deceased spouse,
  • collect part of their benefit in the amount of 50%, and the entire benefit of the deceased spouse.

This solution is much more beneficial for seniors. What’s more, the widow’s pension would be due to all persons entitled to receive the benefit, and not only to persons insured in ZUS. Its maximum amount would be PLN 7,600.
